Screed Calculator
Calculate screed volume, dry mix consumption, bag count and mixing water for floor leveling. Suitable for cement screed, self-leveling compounds and lightweight mixes.
Screed Calculator
Calculate screed volume, dry mix, bag count and water for a floor leveling layer.
Next step after screed
Once the floor base is estimated, the natural follow-up is the finish layer and then the perimeter.
What matters before you estimate screed
- Use average thickness. If the subfloor is uneven, base the estimate on the average working thickness.
- Check product consumption. For the best accuracy, use the exact kg-per-square-meter figure from the bag.
- Keep a reserve. Even a careful screed estimate is safer with a 5-10% margin.
Common calculation mistakes
Using thickness from only one point. If the substrate is uneven, a single low or high spot will distort the estimate. Screed planning needs the average working thickness.
Using a generic mix rate. Similar products still consume differently. A handy average is fine for a first estimate, but not for the final order.
Skipping a reserve for site losses. On large rooms or rough substrates, an extra 5–10% is usually justified and often saves a second delivery.
What to check before buying
Confirm the product rate per 10 mm. That single number drives the entire bag count. If it is wrong, the purchase list is wrong.
Check the allowed layer thickness. Not every compound works for a thin skim and not every mix is intended for a thick structural screed.
Include delivery and handling. For screed, logistics can be a real cost line. Counting only the bags often makes the budget look cleaner than it really is.
FAQs
What is the difference between volume and dry mix consumption?
Volume is the geometric size of the layer in cubic meters. Dry mix consumption shows how much material is actually needed based on the manufacturer rate.
Can I use the same logic for self-leveling and cement screed?
The logic is similar, but the consumption per 10 mm is different. That is why the calculator includes presets and manual override for the mix rate.
